As an anti-disciplinary inventor and researcher, I have deep curiosity in all aspects of the human eye: sight, imaging, enhancement, simulation, anatomy, physiology and pathology. My current work focuses on interactive low-cost diagnostic and screening tools for aberration assessment through hardware apps for mobile phones. With background in computer science and engineering, I have two US patents, three papers as first author and main contributor published at the prestigious ACM SIGGRAPH conference, and one TED presentation. In the past, I co-founded one of the biggest java virtual communities in Brazil, the first Portuguese-speaking on-line portal for Ruby, and several free software projects. I worked throughout my undergrad, from trainee to software engineer, to software architect and independent technology consultant, using many programming languages and tools, from mobile to enterprise.
